We Have Many Years of Experience in the Field

Hvide Sande Shipyard has been in the shipbuilding industry for many years. The industry has changed from focusing on fishing vessels to a wider range of activities. We have tackled the challenges and changes head-on, and by being innovative and flexible we have managed to do well in a tough industry.

Throughout the years our field has moved towards greater specialization, and the demand for customized and intelligent solutions and green technologies has increased.

Our company has evolved to meet such demands, and we now supply a wide range of services all the way from maintenance of heritage vessels to full electric new builds. We are prepared to meet the challenges of the future and to continue delivering excellent solutions.

HISTORICAL HIGHLIGHTS
  • 1950

    Hvide Sande Skibs- og Bådebyggeri (HSSB) is established with focus on service and repair of local fishing vessels

  • 1952

    First order is taken for a new build 12 tons fishing vessel

  • 1954

    HSSB expands with indoor production facilities

  • 1970

    HSSB expands with a welding department

  • 1971

    HSSB delivers the largest fishing vessel so far which requires an enlargement of the production facilities

  • 1980

    HSSB enlarges the production facilities

  • 1984

    The first steel vessel is built by HSSB

  • 1991

    Change of generation

  • 1993

    We construct and build Fregatten for Tivoli Copenhagen

  • 1995

    Activities are expanded within production of steel and aluminum constructions by the acquisition of new production facilities

  • 1997

    First Crew Transfer Vessel (CTV) – M/S Heimdal – is delivered, probably the first in its category specialized in serving the offshore wind industry

  • 2000

    Production of houseboats and houses is started within our new Seasight subsidiary.

  • 2008

    Strategy changed to focus on three business units:
    – New-build vessels
    – Service, refit and conversion
    – Steel and aluminum constructions

  • 2011

    “Wind Supplier” is the first 32-meter crew transfer vessel (CTV) we deliver to DONG Energy – followed by 4 more CTVs to the same customer.

  • 2011

    Activities on the offshore wind market expanded by establishing RG Seasight Fenders – now a leading operator in producing fender systems for CTVs.
    Seasight-Davits is also founded to develop platform cranes for offshore wind farms

  • 2012

    The expansion of the port of Hvide Sande is completed, and bigger vessels can now enter the port. Our company sets up a new agency in cooperation with two local companies – Hvide Sande Supply. A new handling and stevedoring department is also established.

  • 2015

    The company is renamed Hvide Sande Shipyard, Steel and Service – mentioning the three core areas in the business.

  • 2017

    Change of generation.

  • 2022

    Seasight Group is etablished. Shipyard and Steel has become seperate companies, now named Hvide Sande Shipyard, and Seasigt Solutions. Service is now a function in Seasight Group.
